Man, these are some wild speakers. Cabasse debuted their new La Spere speakers at THE this year for quite the show-stopper. You may remember the La Spere from the press release and coverage over at 6Moons. From the press release, one would think they were the size of, oh, a beach ball. But, no, the La Speres as big as the death star and even more imposing.

Keep reading for more pictures and details...

Cabasse has been doing the coaxial driver game for a while now, stacking driver on top of driver in a quest to make the sound emanate from a single point source. The La Spere takes it to the ultimate extreme, packing four different drivers for a published range of 30-22k Hz. However, I was told by a Cabasse rep that the actual range digs all the way down to 18Hz. In truth, it sounded pretty damn deep but, alas, I barely got a chance to listen.

Tri-amplified (tweet and mid-woof together) by the new Bel Canto switching amplifiers, a number of people thought the sound was pretty damn stunning. Price, you ask? The big eyeballs go for a sweet $75K. I'm not sure if that includes the stands which, as a matter of fact, are not yet finished. The stands shown appear to be the driver baskets themselves with the external crossovers at the bottom of the eyeball stalk.

Also shown was the redesigned Kara Evolution going for $35k. They use the much smaller (size of cantaloupe) three-way coaxial driver with bass in the base.
