Tetra has always made some weird-looking speakers. Not that they've been around that long, but the instant anyone sees that pyramid, they know it's a Tetra. And that's a good thing. Stereophile takes a look at the primo 505LTD 2-way speaker and has this to say:
" A concise summary of the Tetra 505LTDs is easy: they were a lot of fun to listen to. Their big, open soundstage, liveliness, and outstanding coherence might have been expected, but their surprisingly deep bass response was a pleasant shock."
The above does come with the caveat "careful auditioning is therefore recommended." Usually described as very musical, the Tetras are definitely worth checking out. Price runs about $8000 with an extra $3000 for upgraded finishes (shown).
