Silverline Audio kicks sand at all those "neutral is better" speaker folks out there. Opting to tailor their sonics for what sounds good and not what graphs well, Silverline is in good company with the tube movement and Wilson Audio (no, no, no, I'm not going to talk about Wilson lest I get into a brawl with half of audio...ah, what the hell -- the Wilson Maxx "midrange" driver is a garbage can lid!)
$5000 for the Sonatina IIIs, they fall right in the middle of Silverline's large range of speakers. The version III sports new Dynaudio woofers smuggled out of Denmark and intentional "smoothing" to compensate for the digital edge inherent in CDs. Marc of Sound Stage says the Sonatinas (and the whole Silverline range for that matter) are easy speakers for non-audiophiles to love.
