Stereophile's Wes Phillips reviews the Canton Vento 809DC tower speaker and falls madly in love.
"In fact, as of right now, the Canton Vento 809 DC just might be my favorite loudspeaker, period."
Yeah, I'd say a love-affair is in progress. The Vento is Canton's second tier line, a step down from their highly acclaimed Karat Reference series, and sports custom drivers and either a silver or cherry finish. As Wes says, Canton is Germany's B&W, which, for those of you who don't know B&W, means they sell a damn lot of speakers.
Specs are freq 20Hz-40KHz, sensitivity of 88.5dB and indepenance 4-8 ohms. $5000 gets you in the front door.
Canton is making serious headway here in the states with their wide range of products and great reviews. Can't wait to see more of these guys!
