Red Dragon Audio has released their new Leviathan Signature Monoblocs amplifiers in a bid to make a dent in the super-power amp category. The Leviathan starts life as the now-legendary ICEpower 1000ASP module, providing 600 watts into 8 ohms and 1000 watts into 4. Then Red Dragon tweaks the amp to their personal tastes, adding all sorts of goodies like ERS cloth to banish electronic interference, modified power supplies and expense cabling. A laser-etched chassis and super cool custom Cardas binding posts (shown next page) round out the package.
We previously posted on their ICEpower amps which have been replaced by the Leviathan and the soon-to-be-released ICEcubes. Designer Ryan Tew says a Swiss Army-like home theater amp is in the works with "7 bays, 3 different power amp modules and 160+ combinations."
Price runs $5595/pair in durapalm wood finish or $5995 for any exotic wood you desire (samples on next page).
