Ever since PMC branched out from the pro audio segment into consumer products, reviewers everywhere have succumbed to their British bass. Despite their Hollywood waif appearance, the $2250 GD1s hit a stunning 25Hz at the bottom while keeping their shirt on up top:

"Like many minimonitors that feature a narrow front baffle, the GB1 exhibited excellent imaging properties, but with the extended bass response of a transmission-line design. What surprised me wasn’t so much the quantity of the bass, but rather the quality of the low frequencies..."

That's PMC's trademark, after all. An excellent review, the PMC GD1s are taken up against the likes of Paradigm and PSB with fine results. Also of interest, the PMC tweeter originated in near-field monitoring, so it has just obscenely wide dispersion, making this speaker awesome for home theater, house parties and other events where you're not cemented in the honey spot.

Check out Roger Kanno's article for more info. Also, peep our coverage of PMC's Wafer wall speakers, DB1 and TB2 active monitors and the super bookshelf, the AML1.
