The great Scottish company Linn has released a new series of slim speakers ranging in price from $500 for the bookshelf speaker to $1150 for the floorstander seen in the picture. They also sport a dedicated housing for the high-freq drive units (that little egg-shaped thing inside the top driver) as well as the option for an active crossover with a dedicated amp for each channel.

The little black hubcap in the picture is actually the subwoofer. Priced at $1500, the 120 Active Subwoofer can be placed under furniture, on the wall or, if you're crazy, on the ceiling (for which they include brackets). Hey, who am I to judge, maybe the ceiling is where you bass sounds the best. But lord forgive us all if ceiling-mounted subs become all the rage.
