24bit 384khz, double DSD 6.1mhz via USB? Yep, Playback Designs has it.
Hot off the press, Jonathan Tinn and Andreas Koch are at it again. This dynamic duo is at the top of their game - no doubt. Revolutionary digital design meets analog heaven: a perfect match. Andreas designed the world's first double DSD (6.1mhz) capable USB interface that's also able to play back super hi-res files in 24bit 34khz also via USB. Naturally, you can stick a CD in there too, but why? Reminds me of the classic PetShopBoys track, "Opportunities" ... you've got the looks, I've got the brains, lets make lots of money... Leave it to Jonathan to market and package this deal via Evolution Acoustic's new "little" $2k speaker and darTZeel's latest. Fed with the latest super hi-res master transfers, the sound was absolutely spectacular, definitely best of show for me. Airy, yet just the right touch of analog sweetness, with gobs of layers and a soundstage a mile deep and wide, this was the small system to beat. Amazing! More to come...
