Meridian has released their newest bookshelf speakers with the wildly unusual driver configuration of stacking a 1" fabric tweeter above a 6" woofer in an MDF box...yeah, not so wild, but Meridian, if you don't know, does everything else a little differently.
Not only is the speaker powered by two 74 watt amps, but two DACs are stuck in the box as well to allow for the shortest signal path available. Of course, you have to run freakishly long interconnects from your CD player, but hey, Meridian has you covered there too.
A DSP (digital sound processor) is also thrown in the package to allow for "Response correction for the whole system. Bass protection. User tone controls. Analogue/digital volume and phase control." A lot of goodies in one box and it doesn't come cheap: $4795 plus $595 for matching stands. Finishes are black or silver.
We've also covered Meridian's G-Class Digiital Subwoofer.
