  Hi-Fi-Show 005-(84)

GuangZhou AV Fair is the biggest event of its kind in China -- you can tell it's an audio
expo by the male to female ratio of, oh, 500 to 2 (and I think the one in the red is a "booth babe" and the other is high as a kite).

Keep reading for all kinds of Chinese wackiness and a damn lot of American and Euro manufacturers showing their babies...actually, it seems there is more Western gear at the GZAVF than home-grown. What's up with that?

First off, HUGE Krell fan 6Moons Srajan talks up the new Krell integrated over at his site and on Audio Asylum. The "F.B.I" appears to be a lower priced offshoot of their statement $90k Evolution preamp/amp combo. Don't be surprised if the "2006" is actually power output into 8 ohms.

Here's Krell again with their Evolution series powering the $100k (if memory serves) Eggleston Works Ivys. Actually, Krell is bi-amping the Ivys. So, yeah, $80k of amplification for a total of 1800 watts.

Lastly, some company I've never head of:

Click the link for a ton more pics (albeit without descriptions). Some say China is taking the US market by storm but, if this show is any indication, the opposite appears to be true as well. Zu, Triangle, Hyperion, Elac, KEF, Tannoy, Canton, Chord, Harbeth and the list goes on...
