The BlueTrip from Griffin claims to turn your iPod into the remote control it was always meant to be. The signal travels via bluetooth from your iPod to the base station which provides RCA and optical outputs. Definitely an elegant solution for the preorder price of $150. And, of course, the BlueTrip is just begging for a little modding love...

I'm dying to get my hands on one of these, but they've been a "pre-order" item for all of 2005. First they were due at the end of the first quarter; then the end of the second quarter; then the end of the third quarter. At this point (six weeks before the end of the fourth quarter) their website still says they "will begin shipping in the third quarter of the year." Best not to get your hopes up!
