E-publication Dagogo heaps some praise on the Genesis 6.1e loudspeakers. Genesis is known for providing active amplification to the bass drivers in most of their speakers but the 6.1e, however, is not one of them. Genesis uses all custom drivers from the circular ribbon tweeter at the top to the titanium mid and aluminum woofers.
There is another circular tweeter on the back that can be adjusted or turned off completely. There are also adjustments for front tweeter and midrange, letting you tweak to your heart's content. Price isn't cheap at $6625. Options include sexy automotive finishing for, naturally, an extra charge. Specs are 48-36k Hz, 88dB sensitivity, 4 ohms...which is bookshelf territory in the bass department.
Ultimate AV took a look at the Genesis 7.1 speaker system, calling it one of the best packages out there. Price for the "goes both ways" 7.1 (pic next page) starts at $1975 each in wood to $2350 in automotive finishes.
