Anyone following audio will instantly recognize the handiwork of Anthony Gallo, wizard of the dark arts. His Gallo Reference 3 statement speakers totally hypnotized most everyone who listened to them (check out the next page for more on the Gallo Ref 3) and his new Gallo Reference AV speakers are sure to do the same.
The $2400/pair Gallo Reference AV speakers are loaded with all sorts of audio voodoo such as the proprietary 180 degree tweeter (the electric shaver in the image) that goes all the way up to 35kHz. Additionally, specialized bass reinforcement is said to make these sound best when hugging the wall and, as you can see from the twisted tweeter in the picture, both left, right and center versions are available.

Love 'em or hate 'em looks, no one can deny that the Gallo Reference 3 is a technological giant and, at $2599, widely proclaimed as one of the best audio bargains out there, winning damn near every award the audio mags put out.
As well as the amazing 180 degree tweeter and unique midrange drivers, part of the Ref 3's magic comes from that tuna can bass driver. With typical amplification, the speaker's range is 34Hz to 50kHz, 88dB, 4 ohms. But Gallo also makes a special $900 bass amplifier/active crossover/bass EQ unit called the Reference SA that then regulates that bass down to 22Hz and makes the whole Gallo Ref 3 package smooth as butter.
