Decware's RL3.0 speakers take pride in bucking speaker tradition. Starting on top, their custom omni drivers look as if someone popped a standard driver inside out. In front of the omni driver is a free-floating ribbon tweeter and, below, is a front-firing affair. A bottom-firing woofer rounds out the package. Definitely unusual, here's what John Mazur of PFO says:
The Decware RL3.0s convey every aspect of sound, from subdued to raucous. They can throw a three-dimensional soundstage without limiting the sweet spot to a narrow window. I don't miss the Maggies.
The Maggies (Magnepan), if you remember, had Mickelson of SoundStage proclaiming them the best speakers under $10k. The Decware RL3.0s clock in at $1995, sport 94dB sensitivity and a range of 40-20k Hz. FYI, John Mazur bought the pair.
