B&W is one of the largest high-end companies out there and, as one reviewer said, with an R&D budget larger than the competition, B&W should be able to pump out some seriously amazing technology...and it appears they have in the form of a diamond tweeter.

Now, diamond isn't unique to B&W - Accuton makes diamond tweeters seen in the likes of Talon, Kharma, Tidal, Lumen White and others. While I have no technical knowledge of which diamond is better than the other, I do know companies using the Accuton price their speakers starting at $20k. The stand alone Accuton diamond tweeter starts at about $4000 compared to other top tweeters used in the most expensive speakers priced around $150.

Theoretically, B&W should be able to capitalize on in-house R&D and save some coin. Do they? Here are two reviews of B&W's new "D" upgrade to their flagship Nautilus 800 line that says they do. They also added more than a new tweeter, upgrading nearly everything other part except the looks. The 800 line comprises a number of different speakers which aren't necessarily better than the other, tailored for the kind of room you have. Prices run under $20k ($12k for the 802d) and, according to the reviews, B&W has set the new benchmark for the segment.
