AV123, in their quest to build a product in every audio category, has released their new Onix MSP-1 Magnetic Suspension platform. Doing that whole levitation thing, the Onix MSP-1 uses piston-like neodymium magnet pods for suspension up to 130 pounds.

AV123 isn't the first company to use magnetic suspension, though their product is one of the cheapest at $209 each. I have no idea on how magnets compare to the sorbothane, roller ball and racquet ball platforms out there but don't be surprised if some daring soul undertakes a shootout one of these days.

The base looks like an SAP Relaxxa. But the glass top of the Relaxxa is still better looking. And I would highly recommend these for anyone with an LP collection. This makes a big difference.
