The ACI Sapphire has gone through various iterations for years now and the new XL version, priced at $1500, gets rave reviews from SoundStage:

"A high-performance small speaker that can compete with the best two-way minimonitors currently available."

And that's no joke, nearly everyone who reviews these little suckers loves them. A frequency response of + or - 1.5 dB from 60Hz to 20kHz is outstanding, usually found only in top monitors. The Sapphire seems to champion true accuracy over other audio magic, which is fine by me. While definitely leaning to the industrial side of the appearance spectrum, I could see these being an excellent studio monitor or the basis for an outstanding computer rig.
